Common questions
Things buyers ask before booking.
How fast can you actually dispatch an inspector?
In major metros, typically 24–48 hours from booking. Out-of-state and rural pickups can run 48–72 hours depending on inspector availability and seller access. Rush dispatch (same-day or next-day) is available in most markets — call (757) 618-2938 to request.
What if I find issues after the inspection?
Every report includes a 5-business-day dispute window. If you find an item we should have caught, email us with photos within 5 business days of report delivery and we will review with the inspector. Damages are capped at the inspection fee paid (per ToS), but our track record on disputes is review-and-refund where the call was ours.
Are inspectors actually independent, or are they steered by sellers?
Inspectors are paid by VehicleInspectors, never by the seller or a dealer. We dispatch geographically — first qualified inspector to accept handles the job. Inspectors do not know the buying price, the seller history, or any dealer relationship. This is a hard policy and the foundation of the business.
Do you handle inspections at auction lots or before in-person pickup?
Yes — auction-pickup verification (Mecum, Barrett-Jackson, RM Sotheby’s, Bring-A-Trailer in-person previews) is a routine specialty case. Same-day reports are available on request. For auction inspections, book the highest tier that matches the vehicle category and we route to a marque-experienced inspector.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
No card is collected at booking, so cancellation before an inspector accepts costs nothing — just email or call. After an inspector schedules and you’ve received a payment link, cancellations may incur a partial fee to cover the inspector’s reserved time. We always work it out.
